Meet Keisha Simon

Recovery gave me a life I never thought was possible.

I don't share my story for attention or sympathy. I share it because people need to know that change is possible — and because I've lived both the hopelessness and the other side of it.

My story & my why

From surviving to a life worth staying for

My passion for helping others comes from my own journey. I spent many years struggling with addiction, incarceration, unhealthy relationships, and the consequences that come with those choices. There were times when I honestly didn't know if my life would ever look any different.

Today, I have nearly four years in recovery — and recovery has given me a life I never thought was possible. I have rebuilt relationships, earned degrees, advanced professionally, and found a purpose in helping others do the same.

I know what it feels like to be hopeless, overwhelmed, and convinced that things will never get better. I also know what it feels like to come out on the other side. My goal is to help people see that recovery is about much more than getting sober — it's about building a life you don't want to escape from.

My background

Experience on both sides of the table

I currently work as a Case Management Supervisor in the substance use treatment field, where I oversee case management services and work directly with clients and families throughout the recovery process.

Over the years I've served as a case manager, group facilitator, mentor, and life coach — helping people develop practical skills for long-term recovery and personal growth. My work focuses on accountability, relapse prevention, goal setting, life skills, emotional wellness, family support, and helping clients transition from treatment into everyday life.

What makes my approach unique is the combination of professional experience, education, and lived experience. I've sat on both sides of the table — and I believe that perspective helps me connect with people in a meaningful, authentic way.

How I show up

The way I work with people

Warm & judgment-free

I talk to you like a person, not a patient — no shame, no labels, no rock-bottom clichés.

Forward-focused

We emphasize next steps, your agency, and what's possible — not just what went wrong.

Honest about scope

Coaching complements clinical and crisis care. I'll always be straight with you about what coaching can and can't do.

Vice President & recovery advocate

Ashley is a clinical social worker, educator, and recovery advocate dedicated to helping individuals and families build lives rooted in resilience and healing. She combines professional expertise with lived experience to support those affected by addiction, mental health challenges, and life transitions.

As the daughter of Keisha, whose recovery journey inspired the mission of Grounding with Keisha, Ashley understands firsthand the impact addiction has on families. She is especially passionate about empowering youth and adult children of individuals with addiction to recognize their strengths, break generational cycles, and discover their own path to healing and hope.

Ashley believes healing is possible for every member of the family. Through compassionate, strengths-based coaching and advocacy, she empowers individuals to discover and embrace their purpose, move forward with confidence, and thrive.

My mission

To meet people where they are, believe in them when they struggle to believe in themselves, and provide the support, accountability, and encouragement they need to build the life they deserve.
